Shakespeare's poetry Part 1

It has become customary to speak of a multilateralism of Shakespeare, but usually imagine a very whole person. Meanwhile, his life was as diverse as the works he created. You could even say that he had not one, but several lives. One Shakespeare is the one who was the son, lovers, husband, father and friend. But we know the least. His personal life remained a mystery to us. We know more about the other Shakespeare - the businessman who entered into an independent life almost without any means and had hard work to earn money to help support the family.

From this Shakespeare left bills of sale and mortgages, statements of claim in court, inventories and other documents related to the acquisition of property and monetary transactions. This Shakespeare was part owner of a theatre and performed on stage as an actor. He had a human life of a theatre stage, with its professional concerns, petty squabbles, habit transform, to be in full view of thousands of eyes, to experience the delight of stage successes, and maybe the bitterness booed the actor.

On the three lives of Shakespeare we know relatively little, and that they are of interest to pour in so far as what could help to understand the main his life, which for us is a life of the playwright. Our Shakespeare is the Creator of the wide world of people experiencing all the joy and suffering which can befall a man. And there was another Shakespeare - poet, servant of the muses and Apollo.

But is Shakespeare the playwright was also a poet?

In the first Shakespeare's plays we meet with him as a poet. Descriptions of the landscape, the emotional outpouring, stories about the past through the mouths of the actors, represent the poems and small poems, and each drama as a whole - a dramatic poem. The characters in the play speak blank verse, sometimes rhyming a single line, and in comedies, such as "Fruitless efforts of love", there are even rhyming poems and sonnets that compose the characters.

Poetic talent was in the Renaissance, a necessary precondition to become a playwright. Since the middle ages plays were always written in verse. The revival only changed the nature of poetry, which was written drama. Mirakli, mystery, morality and interlude were written in rhymed poetry, but genuine poetry in them. True poetry in the English drama of the Renaissance made Christopher Marlowe.

He transformed the art of drama in the first place so that raised it to the height of poetry. He rejected rhyme and introduced in drama blank verse, which sounded great thundering passion of this extraordinary time. Rhyme shackled drama. Marlo freed her from the chains, and she ascended on the wings of imagination to the heights of poetry. Perhaps we will not sin, saying that Marlo was more of a poet than a playwright, and his plays such dramatic poems. A subtle lyricist was Robert green. Plug-in songs from his plays are among the best examples of poetry of the English Renaissance.

The audience went into the theater not only to watch action dramas, but also to listen to beautiful poetry, to which her instill an appreciation playwrights. They competed with each other in beauty of style, using the whole Arsenal of figurative and rhetorical speech. Together they have created a language of poetic drama, far removed from everyday speech because they had to Express grandiose impulses, a vague feeling and a great idea, inexpressibly ordinary words.

When Shakespeare entered the dramatic field, he immediately showed himself a master whose poem was not inferior to the poetry of Marlowe, Greene, and others of his immediate predecessors. No wonder the grin in his famous review of Shakespeare, the first literary evidence about the great playwright, scolding his "sheep upstart" wrote that the actor is dressed "in other people's feathers", "thinks he can also rattle a blank verse" as playwrights, studied poetry at University.

Shakespeare really was initially dressing up "in other people's feathers", and the style of his first drum shows that he used the poetic discoveries of their predecessors. Some lines in them that resemble Marlowe, Greene, Kyd, so that subsequently suspected like early plays were written not by him but someone of them, and maybe all together. In fact, Shakespeare just merged with a stream of poetic drama of those years. Not only it is similar to Marlowe, Greene or the kid. They, in turn, largely similar to each other.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about when Shakespeare began to write poetry. However, it is clear that his early drama was not the first test of the poetic pen. It's hard to believe that he could first try to learn the verse as a master of poetic drama. Apparently, the three parts of "Henry VI" was preceded by some early poetic experiences, not extant. In the biographical traditions about Shakespeare not once mention that in his youth he wrote poetry.

So, in the famous legend about the poaching of Shakespeare is a curious detail: on sir Thomas Lucy, supposedly haunted him for hunting in a foreign land. Shakespeare wrote on the offender satirical poems, which are hung on poles. Poaching of Shakespeare - fiction. But the truth contained in it, no doubt is that the young Shakespeare wrote poetry.

On more solid ground we be when these legends we turn to the evidence to figure out what started the interest in Shakespeare's poetry. Introduced her to his "grammar" school, which he attended. Here, by studying Latin, students read poems of Ovid, Virgil and other Roman poets. They memorized them by heart, translate, and it is safe to say that the school opened the young Shakespeare world of poetry.

His favorite was the Ovid. In numerous passages of the poems and plays of Shakespeare meet the direct and indirect echoes of the oeuvre of the Roman poet. In this respect, Shakespeare differed little from the "University wits". Like them, he came to poetry through humanistic Philology. If the volume of a school course poetry was inferior to the University program, the personal genius of Shakespeare and we are not mistaken, having said that, the poetry allowed Shakespeare to first catch up and then surpass their more erudite fellow writers. He learned not only the lessons learned from the school, but all that was rich Patriotic poetry from Chaucer.
